The Instituto Floresta Viva takes action in the region of Itacaré, close to the Serra of Conduru State Park (Southern Bahia), as pointed out on the map.

In 2013, the Anne Fontaine Foundation started to support a program of reforestation aiming to recover and protect water springs located in plots of land owned by small farmers. 6,500 seedlings have been planted and 40 sources protected so far.
APNE is based in the state of Pernambuco, in the countryside of Recife.
In 2015, the Anne Fontaine Foundation started a two-year reforestation program with some local farmer associations (Sigiri and Acau de Lima) in order to restore riparian land, improve water sources as well as comply with the law and give the basis for the sustainability of long-term settlements. So far, 7,000 seedlings of endemic and endangered species of Nordeste have been planted.
